This is our Golden Doodle Le Aire (French for "Happy Lion").  We adopted him at twelve-weeks old and he just turned six-years old at the end of August.  He is a big golden boy, weighing ninety-seven pounds.  He suddenly started limping on his rear left leg a couple of weeks ago.  A trip to the vet clinic revealed  that he has severe hip dysplasia.  The only medical option is total hip replacement.  In searching for a clinic that performs this delicate operation, I found that  the minimal cost is $6,500 which is far beyond our means.

After reviewing my limited options to earn that amount of money, I thought of my novel/memoir "Never Lost, Never Alone" that I self-published in 2006 on   Amazon Books.  I receive a Royalty of $5 for each book sold, so I only need to sell 1,300 books to reach our goal of covering the cost Le Aire's surgery.  I  wrote the book inspired by this significant life event in my early twenties to memorialize a dear friend and teacher.  I hope you enjoy reading my story.  It is of  a profound spiritual nature which I know everyone can share and appreciate.

I am also a horse lover and equine artist.  The cover of "Never Lost, Never Alone" is adorned with a reduced image of a large oil painting I did of my first horse  Rajah.  He loved splashing in our lily pond.  I have loved horses since childhood in spite of the fact that I did not have a horse until I graduated from college  and got my first teaching job.  I think my story would be very appealing to adolescent girls who love horses, as I did and dream of having their own horse  someday.  It would be a perfect gift for the horse-lover in any family.
